Did you vote yet?

Everywhere I went today and even while I sat at my desk, that was the question I heard. I received phone calls at home last night and today reminding me to vote. I was still afraid I would forget! Today was school elections. School board and millage. Gerrish-Higgins has been campaigning to get the millage passed. (http://www.ghsd.k12.mi.us/ for more info) I don't know any results yet, but I hope it passes.

As someone working in technology, it saddens me to see the state of their technology. Even when they have some of the newer equipment, they still can't use it because it isn't hooked up. They don't have a full time tech. They have contracted a top notch guy one day a week and they have a part time techie - that's it.

I did remember and voted. Almost broke the machine doing it. Paper jammed. The whole room stopped and yelled "don't touch it". A friend of mine that was there, Grub, was teasing me when we left about it. We stopped to visit and Mary Ann (red hair) joined us outside in the warm sunshine. Mary Ann gave me a big hug and told me I looked great. ALWAYS good to hear.

I went home and picked up Sadie. It was too nice to NOT go out and do something. We went into town and visited with Mom and Dad for about a hour. Dad has been doing the stationary bike in order to flex his knees without any pressure. He goes to the CRAF Center, but he found a nice exercise bike at St. Vinny's. It is now a fine addition to my mom's living room decor. :)

Then I head to Glens for dinner - More "did you vote?" stuff and visiting. Joni & Paul were there while Kate cooled her heels in the car. She was mad about something I wasn't clear on. I bought some meat but had no intention of cooking it tonight. I popped a frozen pizza in the oven. I could have done that without leaving the house. Oh well. :)

Jerry "eHarmony" guy left a message on my machine yesterday at 8am morning - just called to say good morning. I thought that was sweet. I didn't tell him I went to work at 7am. He gets brownie points for that. I haven't talked to him since Saturday. Someone asked for more info on him. You will know when I know!

I pulled the pizza out 1/2 hour ago, so I better go eat before it is stone cold.

  1. Do I dare ask why your friend is named Grub?
