Physical Therapy

Yesterday was my first day of PT and it was worse than I feared. It actually made me sick for the whole day. I looked at myself in the mirror when I got home and I was white as a ghost, my face was squwunched up, and my legs were numb. And I never got off the therapy table! She called it massage, but I called it torture. When I wasn't threatening her, I was gritting my teeth to keep from screaming. When they put the ice packs on the back of my legs, it was relief from the burning. This is an image of me on the massage table.

I don't know if it is standard that the therapist call you the next day to check on you or not, but mine did. I told her that from now on, I was going to refer to her as Satan...affectionately, of course. She thought that was a riot, I was serious! I am not even sure what her real name is.

It was 29 degrees this morning. I had to turn the heat on to get dressed. There is some kind of tree at work that is shedding white fluffy cotton balls into the wind. It looks like it is snowing. I took photos, but I am not sure how it will come out.

For the record, it is 70 this afternoon. Sadie and I went to the gazebo. I had picked up the screen at the hardware store on the way home and wanted to install it. There was no wind at all and the lake was quiet and still. The mosquitoes saw a free lunch and descended upon me. I couldn't concentrate to install the screen, so I put the screen inside the gazebo and took Sadie to the end of the dock. I talked her into testing the water first and she got her toes wet and immediately retreated and looked at me as if to say, "Let's see you try it". So I did. It is really cold! The past 2 years I was able to swim on Memorial Weekend, but no way I am getting in now.

I have been really tired this week, I am not sure why - someone at work claimed it was the weather (everyone seems to be dragging) and someone else blamed the pollen that is settling in a yellow blanket on all the cars. Still no rain!
