Lazy Saturday

I was up early and at Walmart before 10am. I did not want to waste a whole gorgeous day shopping. I almost hit a turkey buzzard on the way. Dang thing wouldn't get out of the road! He was mighty attached to that road kill possum. I could see the nasty red scaly head and thinking of getting out the camera before he decided to take off.

When I got home, I camped out on the deck for hours. I tried not to do too much in the yard and it was hard. I did a little puttering, but mostly soaked up sun. It felt delicious. I did some knitting and some solitaire on my Palm Pilot. I have the results of my knitting in this photo. Kristi got the pattern from one of her knitting groups on Ravelry and forwarded it to me...knowing I would LOVE it. There are no eyes on them yet, but I wanted to photograph them before I add them to my mom gift for Mother's Day.

I called mom today to see what she had planned and she said nothing. But she indicated she wanted to go gambling but she didn't think dad would want to take her. So I offered to take her.
She will let me know tomorrow if we are going. She has some coupon for Turtle Creek in TC. I don't gamble, but I do like to people watch. :)

After a nice nap, I made a batch of granola bars. I have been playing with a granola recipe I have and I think I have found a great combo. I leave all the ingredients as the recipe says, but I have played with the dried fruit. The recipe calls for 6.5 ounces of dried fruit. Mine are: apricots, papaya, cherries, banana, and apple with cinnamon. It is really easy and I make it every week. I crumble some into my yogert for breakfast every day. If you are interested, it is posted on the Food Network, Alton Brown. I got it from my boss after his wife made it and sent it to work with him. I took some to a conference and I was sold.

I am off to finish watching figure skating and start my next knitting project. Stay tuned.
