Tuesday

I went grocery shopping at Mom and Dad's tonight. We tease Cari about doing it, but hey, good pizza mom! Thanks. I nabbed some spanish rice (my favorite) and some mashed potatoes, too. Sadie got some cheese from Dad, surprise, surprise. And the price was awesome. :)

My boss called me at 3pm from Hawaii today on the bat phone. That's what I call it, it is a small web cam set up on our computers. He showed me his sunburn, his condo, the outside of the condo, the blue sky, his lanai, the chicken roosting on the rail, the topical foliage, and then he showed me photos and video on his digital camera. He would hold the digital camera's LCD screen up to the web cam lens. I watched guitar players, waterfalls, and hula dancers and listened to the music of the islands. I talked with everyone in the condo while they cleaned up the breakfast dishes. I told them it snowed Saturday morning and laughed when they all groaned. All the while I could hear a rooster crowing occasionally, dishes clattering in the sink, and conversation. For 15 minutes today, I was in Hawaii. This is what videoconferencing can do and that is why I love my job.

A note on the fact that I made it to post #100 yesterday. Yeah me! I was surprised I stayed with it this long. Not only that, I have really enjoyed doing it. So much so, that I started a blog for work, Tech-nique, and another blog named Higgins Lake Online (surprise, surprise) started a couple weeks ago. It is an experiment in blogging commercially. It runs ads, and links to an online store featuring Higgins Lake souvenirs and shirts that I design. I am mainly playing right now - waiting for inspiration. Jordan threatened to contribute, but she is a bit busy these days. Additionally, I guest posted for a videoconferencing blog today as well.

You would think that maybe I am practicing for writing a book or something! Geeze.

TS called me tonight - guess who's starting their own blog? LOL Stay tuned.

I off to check email and eHarmony before the premier of this season's Deadliest Catch starts.
