I am almost back to normal...okay, smartie pants, I mean almost back to being myself again.
Yesterday, I fell asleep on the couch after work and then went to bed early. It felt darn good!
Today I had to go for a mammogram and bone density test. I was scheduled last week, but I canceled when I got sick instead. Mammograms are never fun, but this was a new facility to me. It was kinda, but will never be, pleasant. They made an effort to make everything comfortable. Heat lamp in the changing room. A sink, baskets with towels and washcloths, toiletries - almost like a hotel room bathroom, except super small. In the procedure room, there were framed pictures hanging on the wall, curtains, dimmed lighting and a heated x-ray umm, specimen rack.
Then I was whisked off to another room for the bone density test. Completely painless! I was asked to lay down on my back on a padded table. They gave me pillows and a very large wedge under my legs. It was pretty comfortable. No blanket, but I bet if I had thought to ask, one would have been provided. On the ceiling is a large poster with several lists of funny and philosophical sayings that were life and work related. From time to time I would be distracted from reading to watch my bones form on the computer screen. Weird! They did my spine and then each of my hips. By the time I finished reading the poster, I was done!
Both tests went quickly, were handled compassionately and professionally. No one enjoys medical testing - or the preparation for them. At least the technicians I saw today were sensitive to this and made it a better experience.
I came home and BBQ'd burgers for dinner. Normally, I would have stopped at Wendy's in Grayling while I was there, but a quick review of my wallet assured me that I would be eating at home tonight. $4.00 saved!
I joined eHarmony yesterday. I will keep my single readers, and the rest of you, posted. It is expensive so I will not be renewing the subscription after the 30 day time is up. I waited until I had 20 good possible matches from the 20 a day they were sending me. It took about 2 weeks, and it sounds awful, but I wanted to improve my chances! Like I told Kristi, it is an investment in my summer.
Oh, I am taking suggestions for proposed schedules for July. Like 8am wake up make coffee, study web design programming for 2 hours, take a nap, go to beach, visit with relatives, take a nap. I may have a part-time job to work in the schedule, if you want to work that into your proposal. I AM serious, I will need some structure. Suggest away!
