(drum roll please) Post #100

(I wrote this yesterday and was unable to get online and post it)

I was up early this morning for me on a Sunday. Drank my coffee, did some reading, surfed the internet and just felt restless.

I had hauled my old computer out from under the bed yesterday and had it sitting on the table because I couldn’t find the monitor. I think I gave it to Jennifer or to Pierre. So I figured I would take it to work and fire it up there. I want to retrieve some images off the harddrive that I hope are on it.

So restless and feeling guilty because Sadie hasn’t had much exercise, I put on my hiking boots, put the computer in the back of my car and loaded up Sadie and off we went to Marl Lake. We have not been there in a few months because the trails are not groomed and too hard for me to walk on, or the ice wasn’t safe for Sadie.

We pull in and Sadie is beside herself with excitement. There is no ice on the lake so I decide we are going to go for it. The trails were clear and the sun was out. I was having a good time until we reached the bridges. That is where the wind hit us. It didn’t take long and I turned around. I had enough and my girl was happy.

Then we headed to work where I unpacked the old computer and hauled it into the office. I was just going to drop it off but it was still early in the day and I had no plans, so I began scouting the office for the gear I needed to get it up and running. It didn’t take very long, but it didn’t have a good result. I will need to ask for tech assistance to get past an ugly error message.

Upon arrival home, I am still chilled from my walk and I jump into my PJs again and start doing laundry. I grab something to eat and curl up on the couch under a blanket to read all my library books. The first three are knitting books and I am using post-it notes to mark all the patterns I want to scan or copy for keeping/adding to my pattern notebook. I already have more than I will ever get to, but it is nice to have choices. Every girl loves choices.

I am finishing the third book when Sadie starts barking like someone is here. Then I heard a car door shut – damn, I’m in my pajamas! But it is cousin Brett in a bright yellow car. How do I explain I am in my PJs at 2 in the afternoon. Oh well, I am too glad to see him to worry about it long. He doesn’t get to Michigan very often from New Hampshire. He fills me in on the kids. Saundra is now living in Raleigh, NC and Bryant is 18! He has a appointment at 2:30 with his mom’s meatloaf and then he is heading home to NH.

Having finished 3 books, I decide to get the wall ready to come down. I clear the contents off the shelves, find another place for it, and wash the shelves down. I move the pictures to a temporary place in the guest room. There, all clean and ready to come down. No, I don’t know when it will be, but I have a jump on it. I will need to clear the area by the wall out where the bookshelves are and move the refrigerator over there. I am seriously considering a yard sale….

I spent the rest of the day resting, paying bills, watching a marathon of The Deadliest Catch (LOVE IT), and trying to shake off the chill. Seemed like a lazy day, but I got a lot done.

  1. Where does Saundra live in Raleigh? Should we look her up?
