disjointed ramblings from a tired babysitter with cabin fever and a permanant chill

I woke up this morning cuddled up against Brandi. It was cold and there was a dusting of snow on the ground. It is really getting to everyone.

I am not sleeping well, and I am getting tired of 4 animals in my bed and no room left for me. I am sleep walking. I forgot to take my coffee creamer (SF French Vanilla ONLY) to work and had to go without coffee all day at work. I could barely stay awake through 2 webinars in the morning, I felt like crud and could not get warm all day. However, I can not say that all those things are related to a lack of coffee. When I got home, the first thing I did was drink some coffee - I still felt cruddy and cold. And it is snowing again, harder. The dogs are getting on my nerves. It was too cold for me to take them for a walk. Can you say "cabin fever"?

I took the dogs for a walk last night on the hill and ran into two black dogs on the trail. They were friendly, but remote and could not be tempted to play. I noticed the bigger dog moved stiffly, but I wasn't sure if it was defensive or arthritic. We continued on our way, but I kept watching them. They didn't have collars. The bigger one had blue eyes like Sadie's. They walked back into a grove and laid down under a tree. This isn't normal behavior for a pet in the woods and I became concerned. They were there when we returned and after discussing it with my boss, who was still at the office, we thought we better call the shelter. But before I did that, I wanted to be sure it was the right thing. I left the girls with him and sought out their hidey hole to see if there were puppies or if they were friendly. I talked to them and the big dog got up very slow and stiffly and they both trotted over but were neither clingy or skittish. The both appeared to be older. Yeah, they shouldn't be left out in the cold. They were not skinny, but they needed food and a warm place to rest. I went back to the office, followed by the black dogs, to call dispatch and have them send someone to get them. I will give you an update when I know more.

I chatted with LC Guy last night and the weather is becoming a deterent for shearing on Friday and we discussed alternate plans, just in case. It has to be done soon. Two are pregnant, and it is easier to do before they lamb, rather than after. And it is getting too warm for the amount of wool they are carrying. He said they are panting on the warmer (30-40 degree) days, too. The weather tonight seemed promising, but we'll see.

My phone is working again.
I had to frog 1/2 my cabled panel last night
Got my Michigan Fiber Fest brochure last night in the mail - and immediately emailed Sue and Kristi in excitement. We are banding together to do a fiber crawl of our own this summer. We plan to stay at each other's places for 3 festivals. We all live pretty close to one of them and can save money on lodging...but will probably enable each other to spend the difference!

This is short. I am trying to cut down the amount of time I am spending on the computer and try to make more time for wool. So much to do and not enough hours in the day. For now, I am going to pull the blankets up to my chin and try and warm up.

Was there an important basketball game this week?
*hahaha snort*
Oh, I crack myself up!
