Finally....

Please excuse the delay in posting. I was temporarily out of service.

I am not sure we had a spring. We went from 55 to 88 in one week. It has been raining off and on for several days, but Saturday was beautiful and Sadie and I went to the lake. The water has warmed up considerably since the last time I tried the water! I was able to stand in the water for several minutes.

Sadie still has a lot of winter coat and is having trouble with the heat. I run the fan in the living room and she just lays and pants in front of it. Poor thing.

I went to Knit Night this evening and we had a new member who brought her spinning wheel. I am catching my fiber fever again and I called and volunteered for a couple positions – teaching assistant and photographer for the Fiber festival in West Branch. I figure if I can’t spend money, I will keep busy and learn as much and meet as many people as possible. I had spinning fever real bad last year after Kristi and I went to it, but could not decide on a wheel…nor could I part with the money!

Anyway, I am excited to have a spinner coming to our knitting group and look forward to learning more. I have also decided to attend the Michigan Fiber Festival in August. It is the weekend before I go back to work and I am treating it like a vacation before I go back to work. I am going to take a spindle spinning class – they are hard to find classes and I have all the materials, just lack the technique. The goal is to feed my head (look and learn=cheap), rather than add to my stash (roving + yarn=$$$).

I am so excited that everyone is going to be here the end of the month. It is getting to the end of the month that I am having trouble with! Work is a zoo! I am going to PT three times a week and I am attempting – succeeding – in socializing more. I found that it helps me deal with the whole stressed out about being laid off thing. I am sleeping better and I haven’t had anymore nightmares since!

I have two trainings to get through this week and then I have a reminder on my calendar to call the canoe livery and get prices. I have estimated about 10-15 people so far. It will have to be Sunday, since a large portion of us are arriving on Saturday morning! This will be a riot! Mom and Dad’s will be on the way so have the cameras ready!
