Mail box answer

I got an answer on the mailboxes from my most loyal reader...no, it's not my mother. lol

"You haven't heard the big campaign? It's been on the radio, and there've been inserts in the Herald and the Resorter. You're supposed to go out and "shake your mailbox" and see if it's winter-ready; if not, you're supposed to somehow fix it. I'm assuming that's why so many people have guards up? They shook their mailboxes, and figured out they weren't stable? Just a guess..."

I think that is a very likely reason! My answer was something along the line of "well, at least I'm observant, since I am not in touch with my community!"

I did try to take some photos on the way home, but the light wasn't good. Tomorrow will be sunny and I will make it a point to take some photos. So if you see some photos of mailboxes in the next few posts, you will know why.
