I've had the heat on for a few weeks now. The summer seemed to fly by too fast. There are never enough summer days for me to be able to get in enough naps at the gazebo or in the hammock.
This weekend is the N. Michigan Lamb & Wool Festival and I am volunteering again. I talked my friend, Soo Soo into volunteering as well. She should be arriving tomorrow for the weekend.
Sadie finally had a run in with a skunk. I knew it was a matter of time. And, of course, it was at the worst possible time. Ten p.m. on a Sunday night.
Luckily, I remember a non-tomato based recipe that was in with all my dog biscuit recipes. I didn't have a quart of peroxide, but I used what I had. It worked great! I also used it for all the towels I used on her and for clean up.
I took Monday off and ran to the vet office and picked up some Skunk Off shampoo and fabric spray.
She's had 3.5 baths by Wednesday. The half came from when she rolled in turkey poo after bath number 3. Grrr.
She still has an aroma, but it's bearable and it doesn't leave the smell on whatever touches it...like my hands and the furniture.
1 qt hydrogen peroxide
1/2 cup baking soda
1 tblsp of liquid soap (I used Dawn)
