I will try to sum up the going's on.
- Today is my last day working at the college
- I filed for unemployment this morning to make up the difference between full and part time (only 10 hours)
- 110 broke up with me over Memorial weekend. I took his stuff from my place and left it on his porch. He thanked me via text message and haven't heard from him since. This is a good thing.
- The same week I had to put my 19 year old cat to sleep. I adopted him 6 years ago, 3 weeks before I adopted Sadie. The two were best buds. She's missing him still - so am I. For the first time in over 25 years, I don't have a cat.
- My aunt Sheila, from NC, and her sister Tina stayed with me a few weeks ago. It was so nice to see them again! Unfortunately, the NC family won't be visiting, enmass, this summer.
- My niece, Jordan, graduated with honors this year. She is currently staying with me for the summer, but will be going to college in San Antonio this fall.
- The Twisted one and family will be arriving in about a week and staying until the end of the month. We are already making plans for multiple road trips to further our photography skills. Ludington, Hartwick Pines, and some northern jaunts are being considered. We are trying to get a trip to Chelsea in too.
- I have been hired to teach a face to face college class in the fall and looking forward to it.
- I am also signed up to develop a spreadsheet class for online teaching by the winter semester.
- I am co-facilitating an online class this summer to gain experience for teaching the same course this fall for K-12.
- I am fishing the online personals and having a good time getting to know all sorts of interesting prospects there and I'm even developing an interest in a guy I met outside of the personal ads. Don't think anything will come of this one, but it is fun to entertain the crush. :)
Today's story,
My drunken next door neighbor caused me some grief last night. He was mowing when I got home from another 10 hour day, but was done by the time I got back from Sadie and I's walk at 6:30.
He knocked on my back door shortly after I arrived and was his typical weird self. I finally had to ask him what he was trying to say. He still wasn't direct, but basically was asking if he could mow my lawn without making me angry! I told him I was going to mow it this weekend, thank you anyway.
When I went outside later, I could hear him angrily talking on the phone from my front yard! He has a loud phone voice anyway and sometimes have to close my windows to tune him out! The neighbor on the other side of him has to do the same.
I called my neighbor on the other side to see if they could hear him too. I suspected I was the cause of the ranting. And I was correct. They could not hear him, but he had been at their house after leaving mine, drunk and smelling like liquor, telling them I wouldn't let him mow my lawn. Thier daughter and baby were so uncomfortable they left instead of staying for dinner as planned. They had trouble getting rid of him!
He is really starting to be an issue for both of us and I may call the chief of police, our neighbor across the street, to alert him to the situation. Not to file a report. I wish he would go home to his wife and son, but don't want to wish him on them either!
The one good thing about winter is we don't have to deal with him. It's early in the summer and I'm sure there will be more about him.
