Mother's Day weekend

It snowed Friday night - yes, May 7th. Really more like rain, but still it was cold and miserable. Bright spot was my awesome host and dinner.

Saturday I attempted draining the water heater. Three hours later, it was still draining.  I did more reading and I'm ready to try and tackle it again when its warmer.  I suspect the hard water has left large quantities of  deposits.  Apparently you can dump CLR into the water heater!  Before I do that, I will try a few other things first.  Also, I was unable to remove the element.  Not strong enough and because the heater is back in the corner of a closet, with the washer and dryer, I am unable to get close enough to it.

Mother's Day, I stopped at my favorite greenhouse and nabbed another beautiful and unusual hanging plant. Mom loved this one too.  So do I! I hope to go back when its warmer and get some colorful plants to add to my hosta garden.  Its close to my house and the deer stay out of it. Otherwise, its a waste of money.  In fact, my mom is liquidating her garden because she's tired of feeding the rabbits and deer. Cari and I have first dibs. My front garden is shaded, but I might be able to add something to my back yard.
